Do you want a key role in some of the industry's most complex construction and civil engineering projects?

We are now looking for a construction manager focused on new main levels who wants to drive projects in a business undergoing strong development and transformation.

The most important job of the future

We want to lead the transformation of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?

Your role

As a construction manager focused on new main levels, you will play a central role in the implementation of our larger construction and civil engineering projects. You will work closely with the project manager and contribute to ensuring that the project is driven according to set goals regarding time, quality, function, and economy.

An important part of the role is to coordinate and maintain an active dialogue with contractors, suppliers, and operational organizations. During the construction phase, you will be responsible for monitoring the progress of the projects and ensuring that both schedules and quality requirements are met.

In your role as a construction manager, you will, among other things:

  • Plan and coordinate construction and civil engineering work within the project's frameworks for time, function, and economy
  • Follow up and ensure that work environment and safety efforts are conducted according to applicable laws, regulations, and internal requirements
  • Lead and participate in construction meetings, coordination meetings, and work meetings related to construction and civil engineering projects
  • Act as a contact person for contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders in the projects
  • Be responsible for coordinating the work environment at construction sites, including the role of coordinator for BAS-U

The role is placed within the Project Department, which is responsible for driving complex and technically advanced projects at the forefront. In the coming years, the business will undergo a comprehensive transformation where large parts of the value chain will be developed. New plants will be built, new main levels in the mines will be planned, and existing machines and facilities will be upgraded.

This means that we are carrying out extensive construction and civil engineering projects with a high technical level – all in line with our ambition to lead the transformation of the industry towards a more sustainable future.

What you bring with you

We are looking for someone with experience in construction or civil engineering projects within industrial operations and who thrives in a role with significant responsibility and many points of contact. You are structured, solution-oriented, and have a strong safety mindset.

You have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate work based on time, function, and economy, as well as to make decisions that contribute to the overall project. Through clear communication and a professional approach, you create trusting and long-term collaborations with both colleagues and contractors and other stakeholders.

As the industry develops towards increased digitalization and more autonomous working methods, you are adaptable, curious, and have a desire to embrace new technologies and working methods. You are driven and motivated to develop in the role and contribute to the success of the projects.

  • At least a high school education
  • Experience leading larger contracts and/or deliveries within construction and civil engineering projects, either as a client or as a contractor/supplier
  • Experience and training in construction work environment coordination (BASP and BASU)
  • Experience in the mining industry and rock work is an advantage.
  • Driver's license (B), which is a requirement for all positions at LKAB
  • Basic knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
